The FSA produced a report expressing their concern at the number of mis sold mortgages and loans, resulting in financial hardship for 1000’s and they intended to investigate.

The FSA’s crackdown has so far resulted in 91 brokers being banned and fines of £1.7 million for the lenders involved with mis sold mortgage & mis sold payment protection insurance, and the Government have given the go ahead for customers to claim. • Was a broker involved or did you go through the bank or building society?
• Did you borrow more than the value of the property (example 125% of the property value like the Northern Rock’s Together Mortgage)?
• Did you self certify the mortgage?
• Was/Is the mortgage interest only?
• Does the mortgage run passed your 65th Birthday?
• Did you consolidate debts?
• Was the mortgage a ‘Right to Buy’?

If answer yes to any of the above, you may have a claim for a mis-sold mortgage.
